Product Description

Product Descriptions:

Silane is a colorless gas with a strong garlic odor, known for its reactivity with air, leading to a choking sensation upon inhalation. When it contacts the air, silane can ignite and produce an intense white amorphous silica smoke. The primary health risk associated with silane lies in its ability to spontaneously combust, causing severe or even fatal thermal burns. If the silane cylinder is exposed to flames or high temperatures, an explosion may occur before the cylinder valve is compromised. In cases of excessive discharge pressure or rapid silane release, a lag explosion can ensue. Silane leaks without spontaneous combustion are perilous and should not be ignored. Personnel handling emergencies must use appropriate protective gear tailored for firefighting. It is crucial to extinguish fires before attempting to cut off the gas supply.

Silane gas is a colorless, toxic, and flammable substance, with a distinct garlic-like odor that can be quite unpleasant.

Application
Silane and its functionalized derivatives have numerous industrial and medical applications. Silanes serve as coupling agents, enhancing adhesion between fibers such as glass or carbon fibers and polymer matrices, thereby stabilizing composite materials. For example, silane coats glass fibers to improve adhesion with polymers. Additionally, silanes are used to attach a bio-inert layer to titanium implants. Other uses include water repellents, masonry protection, graffiti control, and applying polycrystalline silicon layers on silicon wafers during semiconductor manufacturing. In the late 1990s, approximately 300 metric tons of silane were consumed annually by the semiconductor industry. More recently, the rise in cost-effective solar photovoltaic module production has driven significant silane usage for depositing hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) on substrates like glass, metal, and plastic. The PECVD process, however, is inefficient, with around 85% of the silane going to waste. To mitigate this waste and reduce the ecological impact of a-Si:H-based solar cells, various recycling initiatives have been launched.

Silane is also pivotal in supersonic combustion ramjets, acting as a combustion initiator in compressed air streams. Its ability to burn using carbon dioxide as an oxidizer makes it a promising fuel for engines functioning on Mars. Due to the solid byproducts (silicon dioxide and carbon) from this reaction, it is applicable mainly to liquid-fuel rockets (using liquid carbon dioxide), ramjets, or other reaction engines.

FAQ
Q: What's your product price?
A: Pricing for each gas is influenced by market supply and demand, quantity, and purity, making it difficult to set a fixed price. If you are interested in any specific gas, please provide your detailed requirements, and I would be happy to offer you a tailored quote.
Q: What is the minimum order quantity?
A: Minimum order quantities vary across different products. Please share your specific requirements with us, and we will provide the relevant details.
Q: What is the delivery time?
A: If the cylinder is in stock and only requires gas filling, delivery is approximately 7-10 days ex-works after receiving the deposit. Custom cylinder orders require about 15-35 days ex-works post-deposit, depending on the quantity.
Q: How do you ensure gas quality?
A: Our cylinders undergo a thorough treatment process, including cleaning, drying, vacuum pumping, and replacement before gas filling to ensure they are clear and dry. Each treated cylinder is tested for internal purity. After filling, all gases are tested once more. If the gas fails to meet standards, it is reprocessed. Finally, we provide a qualified gas test report.
Q: Are all cylinders recyclable?
A: Typically, seamless steel cylinders are recyclable. However, disposable cylinders are intended for single use only.
Q: Can we send back cylinders to China for refilling?
A: Yes, you can send back our cylinders for refilling. Inform us before exporting, and we will manage all necessary import customs clearance formalities.
